For the first time at Aspect, we set the stage for an unforgettable jazz experience led by Jen Hodge, a marvelous double bassist and charismatic bandleader whose musical skills and passion have recently earned her a Grammy Award nomination. She doesn’t just play the double bass—she sings, grooves, tells stories, and brings a cohort of outstanding fellow musicians with her.

A versatile musician with a deep knowledge of jazz history, Ms. Hodge is known for charmingly and seamlessly blending the traditional with the contemporary, creating fresh arrangements that allow soloists to soar and the ensemble to interact, with clever nods to musical masters of the past.
