Illustrated talk by John Brewer

This captivating concert takes you into the world of the 18th-century lost Italian operas, featuring soprano Roberta Mameli and Le Concert de L’Hostel Dieu. Inspired by the legend of Prince Hamlet, these operas vanished over time—until musicologist Paolo Vittorio Montanari’s dedicated research unearthed fragments scattered across Italian libraries. The expressive and brilliant arias of Scarlatti, Gasparini, Carcani, and Vignati come to life once more, offering a glimpse into a forgotten musical past.

Cultural historian John Brewer will give a talk exploring the historical and artistic significance of these rediscovered works. Join us at Bohemian National Hall for an evening of music, conversation, and complimentary wine!
